Test Shots: Nikon 105mm VR Macro Lens : After drooling over the Nikon 105mm VR macro lens for months, I finally decided to treat myself. This lens is big, heavy (almost 2 lb), super fast (SWM + f/2.8) and built like a tank with solid optical quality to match. It opens a whole new world of macro photography. I decided to start by taking some test shots around my home.

Test Shots: Nikon 18-200mm VR Super Zoom Lens : I have been eying this lens for 17mos since March of 2006 to extend the range of my 18-70mm kit lens. Though frustrating for consumers, I suppose Nikon is doing a phenomenal job of maintaining high demand by keeping supplies scarce. I seriously considered getting "pro glass", mainly 17-55mm and 70-200mm f/2.8, but the excessive weight, $3000 combined price tag and frequent lens changing didn't appeal to me. So the 18-200mm was an ideal compromise of price, performance and quality.

Test Shots: Nikon 10.5mm Fisheye Lens : I have more fun with this lens than any other in my colletion, so it never leaves my camera bag. From goofy portraits to ultra-wide landscapes, you can capture images like no rectilinear lens can. Some people try to "de-fish" the images, but I think that's really missing the point of owning a fisheye. With a minimum focusing distance of 5.52 inches, you could practically be touching your subject with the lens.
